About 2/3 of the population voted to approve reforms in a new Family Code, which will also allow surrogate pregnancies and give gay couples the right to adopt children.

People have been waiting for this kind of rules to live the life they wanted by because of the religious groups and some other groups people were scared to show their identity and they have been hiding from years…………

Cuba Government ran a national campaign regarding this topic which is for beneficial for Same sex marriage. Many Religious groups were started opposing this rule. However, It marks a big moment for Cuba, which saw gay people persecuted and sent to work camps in the 1960s and 70s. So, on Sunday in Referendum, they make a 100-page document after hours of debate. On Monday the voting results came and by 66% percent votes this topic has won and it was still getting opposed by churches and many other non-religious groups. But Government needed 50 % of votes to approve same sex marriage which they got. Because islands in Cuba were getting the understanding of same sex marriage.
